The idea that history is only ever written by the victors is a notion which translates into the world of cinema in the sense that whoever commands the most might may justify their actions, or more importantly, their use of violence. One is so drawn into their dramatic and pugnacious struggle, so embraced by their moral standpoint and so empathetic to their desperate struggle for justice as that character perceives it that one never stops to question their motives. But surely more darkness lies behind the eyes of he who instigates wars?
