Dear Editors, Today I turned up at the library at 9.12 and went straight for the 5th floor. to my dismay it looked pretty full and when I went to inspect what looked like empty desks I discovered they all had strategically placed bits of paper and folders on them. I challenged one suspicious looking desk to ask if anyone was actually sitting there only to be barked at by the girl sitting next to it. I eventually found one desk it was empty apart from a folder and note pad just creeping on to it from the desk next door but as soon as I sat down and moveD it, I incurred the wrath and whispers of the almost the entire row of desks. It too had been claimed for a friend who couldn't manage to emerge form her bed early enough. Reserving space is, until all of the library is open again, a huge problem. there are too many people wanting to use the library but far too little space. Do we all have to get up at the crack of dawn to be in a chance of getting a space? Or could continued publicity on the subject help people to see how selfish they are being? I don't know exactly how much coverage your paper has given the subject in the past but I feel that especially as we ALL have very important exams to sit within the next month that the subject should be brought to light in the hope that the many students who use the main library realize how unfair and extremely annoying their actions are.
